The palaces & stupa at Kapilavastu, near the Indo-Nepal border, mark the home of Prince Siddhartha. 3 palaces were built by Siddhartha's father, the King of the Sakya tribe, for the newly married prince. He lived here for 27 years before leaving on his journey seeking Enlightenment. ![]() The India-Nepal Border Crossing. We had to pass this way on the way into Nepal, while shooting for our new book, Walk With The Master. Lumbini, the first location seen in our book, is the birthplace of The Buddha. This is also one of the places that form the holy Buddhist Circuit. Today a lush and peaceful garden surrounding the ruins of the temple built by Emperor Ashoka and several stupas built to commemorate the monks who have achieved enlightenment here.
